Pink Garage Doors…Are You Kidding?

Not kidding…..Pink Garage Doors….

Just having a little lighthearted Tybee fun. My new clients are great!!!!! They love pink ..zebra..and old cottages made new. This is my favorite pink bike in front of these wonderful original  old doors. I am recommending adding a small awning above the doors  with a wonderful brackets….I just happen to have a few I bought in Nashville last year. I have been saving them for something special and this cottage just may be it.
the type of awing  except it would be 5 v-groove galvanized tin ….Luscious little Cottage pink was to deep a shade for the new cottage so the color is called Party Time a Sherwin Williams color.

oh yes….fabric samples in the new basket on my bike.

And YES more fun.. Pink Zebra shutters...

can't  wait til these go up!!!!!

great wooden walls and old pine floors

More happiness inside….( the horseshoe crab with a map on it is the first thing to hang on the wall)

the old garage will have more sleeping space  upstairs

landscape .. shutters..picket fence design and maybe just maybe a pool!

a wonderful old cottage  at Tybee getting  refreshed

It was in amazing condition and even had the original  wooden screen .
The  new owners had the old window reworked and they open with ease so the ocean  breeze can blow though the cottage

steps to the extra sleeping space above the wonderful old garage.

love old door with the original glass door knobs

the owners promised their 6 year  old son a tire swing in this tree….cant wait!!!!
Stay tuned…it will be a Tybee Cottages vacation rental.www.tybeecottages.com

An Island Cottage Adventure

I have been fascinated my how different the cottages are and I know that is because all the clients are so unique. The tour was a great success everyone one had different favorites in rooms and  cottages .It was for a very good cause, the Humane society of Savannah , and I would love to hear from people what was their favorite..room.. cottage..pillow..decoration.......
Unfortunately I got sick and was out of the picture for part of the day.so not sure what the buzz was about.
I took a few photos ..of our island Christmas. .....lots of color beyond tradition red and green.(but we had red and green also)

Holiday Tour ……So Much Fun..

I am exhausted but thrilled about the day. The weather was 80 and sunny and everyone was laughing and talking and having so much fun.

Here is the bunk room at Southern Tides cottage. the floor is painted my new color "Beachy Keen Green" It was actually  supposed to be Beach House blue but the paint store mixed it wrong. I like it with the red Christmas stockings. This room has 4 sets of bunks…..www.tybeecottages.com

the other sets of bunks .space in the corner is "Fort Tybee"

New Year..New Cottage

After  much renovation...(.and blood sweat and tears) a beautiful and much loved cottage is open for business.   The business of making wonderful Tybee Island memories with friends and family at the  Coral Cottage. It will be a Tybee Cottages Vacation Rental      www.tybeecottage.com.  Send them an email  until the photos are on the site.

Living Room
The walls are painted a color other than white because they are sheet rock . I selected a color that would compliment the great  turquoise stove ( Sherwin Williams buoyant blue). My goal was soothing and relaxing.

Living Room .original fireplace with a  nautical chart that was left in the house. I love the contrast of the old and the IKEA.

Detail.. a light from World market. the shade and the cord are sold separate
the television will be mounted over this great chest that the cottage owner, Vicky Patton painted.....Now the twig crab is just resting there and my cup of water.. tee hee
Dining room and coral chandelier

this piece was original to the house  but we added color
detail of an ebay or etsy print that Vicky bought. The mats are painted HC1 Ben Moore to created interest and contrast
a yummy shrimp salad   would look beautiful in there

view into sun room from dining room  a great mix of old and new with lots of coral touches

the sunny wonderful sun room

I love the kitchen. It is small but packs a great  dose of happiness. The homeowner,  Vicky Patton  has  a great blog that she started about the entire experience.... Very Very Vicky blog spot. It is great. She is quite the  Internet shopper and bargain hunter.I love that about her. She lives out of town but both she and her husband were both born in  Savannah.

the stove was also original to the house (but not the turquoise)

now if this isn't fun nothing is...
Added the same chrome detail to the edge of the  soft grey laminated counter tops....very retro and the bar stools will also be retro style( they are on the way) and I will post a few more photos.
had the stove painted and re chromed.. even the light on the back works. It has great storage

the outdoor shower can be seen from this window

how fun is this!!!! Vicky tells you how to find this fun piece on her blog.

My client gift to Vicky and Henry.. I took one of the  the original window and had my favorite cottage words painted on it for her ( the contractor replaced all of the great old windows and we all know how I FEEL  about that!!!! Boo Hoo)
I need to educated that nice man....
