What a busy time, the tour of homes and a wedding on the very same day!!!!!
My very good( and very talented) friend's daughter got married at 5:00pm on the very day of the tour of homes. The tour ended at 4:00 and the wedding was 45 minutes away and began at 5:00 pm . I hosted a shower and here are a few photos of my friends special request....cake served on a plate with real silverware. Here is some of my friend's magic.........How beautiful it all worked together. Both her parents were photographers and she has a natural born talent for making things fun and beautiful.I was completely in love with the way she displayed the cake and pearls with my plates and silverware.
Yummy cake!!!!!!!

Turquoise Chocolate Candy...I AM ready !!!!
I found turquoise chocolate candy at Fresh Market to put in small bowls for the visitors!!! It was the perfect thing..chocolate and turquoise. I will send this to Erin at House of Turquoise http://www.houseofturquoise.com/ ( I love her blog) because finding turquoise food made my day.
So much to do and so little time.............
The final hours.....
Do I sleep on top of the bed so it will be ready for tomorrow OR do I crawl into the fresh white sheets and have sweet turquoise dreams?
The photo of the candy was not taken on the floor..........Some of my kitchen counter tops are made of black and white floor tile .
Hint: Not everything should be used as it was intended.. Thinking outside the box is GOOD!
Kristen, my assistant, made a "before" poster for the visitors who have no idea about this place. Looking at these photos brought back many memories( and not all good). I never thought I would ever figure this place out or like it. Expect the unexpected...I am a firm believer in that.
Photos to follow..............

48 hours until the Tybee Island Tour of Homes and fluffing like crazy!!!!
OK. What do you think ?????
Into to the cottage or back to the storage unit?
I'm thinking... "Baroque at the beach"..... after all it is a bohemian cottage and we just want to have some fun....
My long range plan....have it white washed and a natural linen nail hail head upholstery job for the fabric. Not enough time so................I am thinking. "Do I have a place for you!"
The storage unit produced some interesting possibilities for throw pillows and funky new ideas. IF it weren't 96 degrees I would have searched deeper into the unit and come up with plan B..
.
HINT: Always has to have a Plan B...
This is the base of an old mirror which I bought from a friend. It is plaster with a marble top. Sculley, the cat, will love napping on it once the tour is over.
I think this is a perfect compliment to "Baroque at the beach"
Things are really beginning to look fresh and clean around here. I am addicted to a fresh coat of paint...and Peter is making it all wonderful.
HINT....if you want a REALLY REALLY clean house..repaint your base boards!!!! Life changing.....................
If it isn't perfect by Saturday morning, I will just hang the sign my sister gave me for Christmas a few years ago...............

Getting Ready for the Tybee Island Tour of Homes
OR.....how many things can I stick under the beds before Saturday morning at 10:00am!!
Major de-clutter time!!!!!
Today I was weeding the garden and washing the linen curtains and planning to make new pillows for the sofa. Maybe I will just go to my storage unit and see what I can find in my fabric stash and create a little magic for myself. (Hope I am not to difficult to please)
"A Bohemian Cottage" is small so the dirt seem to show up more.
It is a funny little place that was built in 1946 out of brick...at the beach... How odd!!!
In the the new book, Coast: lifestyle architecture, Janelle McCulloch calls it the glamorous getaway. I don't know how glamorous it is but there are two crystal chandeliers that have to be clean and shined before the tour. I have many hours of fluffing and closet cleaning ahead of me so I better get moving. .
