Preparing for A Beach Wedding

http://annaspeir.weebly.com/
Anna was hired to do a  wedding on the beach on Tybee Island this past weekend . I got a chance to help her with it................ it was so hectic......... but so much fun!!!!!...
There was lots of  running around and hauling things to and from the beach. It  turned out beautiful and everyone loved all the things that Anna created for the wedding celebration.
Here are a few photos of the preparation .The bride and groom wanted a simple beach wedding so Anna created her magic on the beach.

Moving things to the beach.. the life guard stand is in the background but out of the view of the wedding venue.  How about the color of that beautiful September sky..........
Fresh bamboo from the local Bamboo Farms in Savannah................................

Starfish and soft flowing fabric to frame the ceremony...............................

The fisherman and cooler ( in this photo) were finished by the time the ceremony took place....Anna was hurrying and scurrying around creating a beautiful wedding arbor.......

The view behind the wedding arbor..sky, clouds sands and and the Atlantic Ocean..................

The soft ocean breeze was just the perfect thing................

More of Anna running around creating her magic on the beach.........................................

We added conch shells  for a finishing touch...............

Close up of the arbor and shells...............

Anna's   flower magic at the reception...shells, driftwood, flowers and palms

Every reception and wedding needs a security guard.. even if he "looks" like he is sleeping......

A "found" wedding beach sign I added to the arbor right before we took the arbor down and we slowly faded away into the night.............................

Anna's arrangements for the tables inside the North Beach Grill

There were two of these tall  arrangements on the buffet table

The outside tablescapes and candles that she created

I just love how she added the beautiful and natural fan coral....

Anna's talent is amazing..

A little Tybee Island attitude.....
Simple shells , starfish, sand and candles on the outside tables from Anna....

Our beautiful Tybee Island light house was the prefect back drop to the reception

A beautiful night for a wonderful celcbration!!!!

the old window was suppose to be blocked out from the wall and not painted (to remain rusty crusty)

benches are very comfortable

decisions decisions decisions  on the candy he wants....or that his mom will allow him to have

testing the yogurt machines
will be adding some turquoise picket fence sections to create a patio feeling in a shopping center

STILL waiting on the bar stools....and a few more little things but all and all it is a great place!!!!!

My latest project...yum yum !!!!

My latest project is so much fun I just had to share it .It isn't complete but I love how it is coming along. I was hired to design a neighborhood yogurt store (in my old neighborhood Isle of Hope).
The client fell in love with 4 my colors and with the vct flooring that I use in many of my cottages. We did a cottage feeling mixed with the retro ice cream parlor lighting and furniture. We added tin awnings over  turquoise benches and old windows with cottage star fish and crab  shutters . It feels friendly and relaxing and the yogurt is absolutely Yummy!  I will take final photos to share with you once the retro swivel bar sools are on place at the counter.
www.janecoslickcottagecollection.com for colors and shutters.

3 of the 4 from the Cottage Collection colors

will be on the wall

will hang by the old window (looks into the office)
the turquoise benches are under the window with the shutters.

my color PORCH CEILING BLUE which she also dearly loves...... We put inside of the "Hutch" where the  candy for sale will be displayed.

the benches have backs and are attaced to the wall

Survived the move ......and moving on.......

First......
I want  to thank you for all your kind comments on my last post!! That was such a great help. The new owner loves the cottage..she loves it as much as I do... AND she has made friends with Big Grey. I am so thrilled.

For now, I am renting a beach house  from  one of my great clients. I needed some time "to ponder" before I  begin my new project . I helped them with this project several years ago and it has" evolved" into a fun and funky beach house. A new house that feels like an old beach house. High ceilings big porches open staircase and so many treasures ........................
.. They are the best "treasure hunters" I know. They are always on the hunt for great pieces. I have worked with them for years and we never do "normal".
He always teases me and says, "You are way over-rated".....and yet calls on me when he can't decided what in the world to do with all the treasure that he finds. He is a banker but loves to "junk'. He travels to Cuba and is crazy about the color green.
She is a wonderful  writer and newspaper reporter .She has written 6 books about Savannah and is lover of kitties and old things. I am very lucky to have such and good  and interesting friends.

First shot..
After they collected so many old medicine cabinets that they did not know what to do with them I surprise them by hanging them all together over the soaking tub. They love it. ( Some of them still had the old bottles and boxes in side)

The client loves to paint signs and paints everything green..I mean everything!....He loves Jimmy Buffet and when he isn't painting things green he loves to spend the days on the beach.

He wants to"  be me".......... but as a designer..everything cant be green!!!!!! So for now he will stick to his day job as the banker.........

great details and textures from places thay they visit...........................

Great old pieces for storage............................. closets from old!!!!!!
    I call his style..CUBAN STYLE.....................

Added wood on the walls in the master bath..to cover the sheetrock.....Love the old Mirror.... I can't see my wrinkles in an old mirror  . This beach house is only 9 years old but full of old Tybee Island photos and things .

The old iron bed is original to Tybee Island and belonged to my client's father when he was a young man.

One day I am going to Cuba.......
.( Notice the shutters..... I bought all they had years ago. They are an interesting shade of blue. I used them as  headboards at the" enlisted man mess hall", on the wall at" Mermaid manor" as the cabinet doors and pantry at  A Bohemian cottage".)
