A New Beach House Adventure...............

I am so excited and tired...creating a new home for some very busy people. I told them I could "pull" their new beach house together in a week! They have been buying things and more things until I suggested they... STOP... until we really knew what else was needed to complete the house.
The house is beautiful but a little scary...............the views will blow you away and nature IS the best designer.
 It has soooooooooooo many light fixtures and colors and corners that it feels like a maze. Oh, it is going to be great ,but a few corrections are in order.
Budget is tight and hopes run high and I cant wait until they spend their first night and call me to say they are relaxed, and happy watching the waves roll in and the seagulls  fly by.

we need curtain panels at the windows because very few of the walls in the bedrooms are solid walls suitable for beds and/or headboards.

A Little " Fluffing" is good for the Soul...

I am sharing the preparation for the photo shoot . I love love this house and I hadn't given much thought to doing anything to "fluff" before the shoot.
Amazingly, it was.... adding a thing here and there...moving a rug...adding a throw pillow or two or three or four...... adding some color to the kitchen cabinets(the coral knobs borrowed from my another client)  and painting the pantry screen door the cottage collection color I call "Heaven". .http://janecoslick.myshopify.com/collections/janes-colors

I ordered new knobs for the kitchen but they did not arrive in time .  
I have the original red coral knobsI had used in the powder room so I borrow all Tybee Shutters Cottage kitchen red coral  knobs ..added my own  and we had enough for the shoot .( adding some color to the kitchen for interest)

added some more pillows to the sectional sofa.... a mix of very different types...of pillows

I think I am in love with this photograph. I love the dining room the most! Well, maybe the master bedroom and bath..I'll show it to you and a few other rooms in my next post and then well vote.

My Client To The Rescue !!!!!!

My client came to the rescue for  the photo shoot. The knobs I ordered did not arrive in time  so my " Plan B" was to borrow coral knobs from "Tybee  Shutters Cottage" .( for the shoot)
My client was very kind to lend them to me and they worked out great.
 However, she failed to tell the woman who was coming to clean Tybee Shutters about what I was doing . She called my client and said, "why did your house guest walk off with all your kitchen cabinet knobs?
TEE HEE!

I forgot how wonderful that cottage is so a snapped a few photos to share with you. It gave me so much pleasure to see it in person once again.




......the colors of the cottage from my cottage collection ( beach bucket red was an inspiration from those old shutters)



..........made the head board from the shutters we bought from the new owners of an old wonderful cottage at Tybee...they did know what they had ..thank goodness they offered them...... ............they "remuddled' that amazing cottage..BUT" Tybee Sutters" came to life from their mistake.

when you buy a new house ..GIVE THOUGHT to what is there before you begin throwing everything away.

used red and white  stripe Sunbrella Fabrics for the cushions and porch curtains to work with the original red of the shutters



they collected paint by number vintage art and we did the whole cottage around this collection.....such fun!!!



I hung so much art ( my friend helped me because it "takes two" to get that job done right..one to hold while the other looks...............)
