One Fish Two Fish....

I have been doing some fishing lately...but not the normal kind with bait and hook.
The words to the Dr.Suess Book ..."One fish.. Two fish... red fish blue fish... always come to mind when ever I see fish.
It has been years since I read it but I remember it word for word.
Remember the last house that got moved on Tybee Island

Well here is a progress report....
I  decided it need a bit of personality so a fish picket was the answer. The Catskill Builders are the greatest and were ready  willing and able to make my plan come true.
What do you think?

just getting started .. this color is a sherwin williams color SEA NYMPH sw1743
it has a green blue/less blue green...nice color for a house located on an island between a bit of navy  to the right and light green to the left.

I cant do the outside without pondering the inside....

A little shabby fishy bedroom fun...and speaking of fun....We always have fun while we work..

Rain ,Wind and Sod

The weather has been so rainy and windy for the past week. I knew all the rain would help some fresh sod so I went to the nursery on my way home from the office and fell in love with this place...I had to share!!!

They had flowers but they also had chickens and fish and herbs and a vintage bathtub shower head fountain...

how about the rocking chairs on the roof... A nursery with a sense of humor!!

Everyone was so helpful and  pleasant. I love love love flowers and this cheerful place had everything.
( I only wish I could have brought them home with me to help lay the sod....tee hee)
P.S.
Erin at House of Turquoise( My FAVORITE Blog)  posted some more photo of the  beds from my work  . Her  wonderful mother in law came to visit  and I took her and her sisters on a "ride about" on the island. I shared a few a my projects and the   pictures she took are so beautiful.

And Speaking Of Beds...

Beach beds...cottage beds, city bed, day beds, fancy bed, beds with out headboards, beds from old shutters, Jane Coslick Cottage Shutter Headboards ,king size headboards made from  twin headboard hooked together, beds made from old doors, beds made from old windows, beds made with old gingerbread  hanging beds, swinging bed, bunk bed, hidden beds..
I have made sooooooooooooooo many beds.  No wonder I am sleepy..
These beds all have one thing in common... lots of fluffy pillows and a great place for a good nights sleep.

What do you think? Which is your favorite?

Bellamy And The New Cottage

A visit to Bellamy's studio  is always a treat. We are both ADD and go a mile a minute on every creative subject.
This visit I was helping a client select a painting  for her new cottage so I brought a chair and turquoise pillows to help with the decision making. The painting will be the center of the focus and the dining chairs will be these happy yellow cargo chairs.
Love love love!!!!!

decisions decisions decisions.. so many colorful choices!!!!!

I knew which was going to be the perfect one..

what a great dock and river this one is..Love it too!!

One of my personal favorites....but I love them ALL!!!

A place to see them all...from the back of Bellamy's sofa. Her pup is watching everything we do

The decision is made and this painting will be perfect. We will have a ball selecting the other things to go with the yellow dining chairs with turquoise accents
I can just see it in the dining room of the newly restored cottage.

sunshine and turquoise... a great choice for a new wonderful newly restored  beach cottage

A SNEAK PEEK at the cottage..
the view toward the front door.. all open  space

the amazing plumbing contractor is standing in the future dining space

the great carpenters working on the tiny porch off the bedroom
Beach cottage ...under renovation...

The view as you enter the front door....
Can you tell where the painting will hang?.
The point of focus in the space and the future home of the great Bellamy painting!!!!

I am loving this little cottage and cant wait to see it all come together
