The Best of Fleamarket Style
I feel very honored to have some of my designs projects featured in the Best of Flea Market Style Magazine.
Hear are a few images.
Hear are a few images.
It is a magazine after my own heart. A mix of old and new to create one of a kind design . I will always love magazines . My favorite thing ..a stack of magazines and a cup of sleepytime tea....unwind and sweet design dreams.

A House Not Yet Designed....
A very special cottage in the making...
It begins with an idea...and a vacant piece of land with an old shed that is falling down . So many trees on a quiet street on a laid back island.
New beginning ..
How many bedrooms?
Baths?
Closets.(.his and her closets) work the best
Dishwashers?( two are better than one. One for the clean dishes ...one for the dirty dishes. Never have to unload the dishwasher to reload.. Dishwashers are less expensive than lots of cabinets.....
unique furniture ..some old some new.
Great art
Comfortable places to sit
Wide screen porches....porches are as important as kitchens in my opinion
Wood floors
Lots of windows
Kitchen for cooking and entertaining
Wooden walls
A place for pondering and garden tools and the lawn mower
A work shed for flowers or oyster shell lamp making
A place for the beach chairs and golf cart
A fabulous outdoor shower
A picket fence
People only live in 10 percent of their home...so house size should never be the most important thing
Spend your money where you spend your time.............focus on those spaces
A place to build a great fire. both inside and outside
A place for oyster roast and watching Georgia football games
A turquoise or red or orange or yellow fridge (optional)
Wooden walls..( in case you didn't get it the first time )
Unique pieces of something ........to make it your own
Here is Anna ...with an old piece that she and her husband Monty bought to use in the new house.
She and I had seen it in a friend's work space and I said when I saw it .".Call me if you ever decide to sell these pieces!!!!"
So many decisions to make and so much shopping for wonderful thing to fill the empty spaces
Shop wisely
Never rush the decision making
Ponder... Ponder ...Ponder
Hire qualified people to help in the process
Takes advantage of the Christmas Gift of Design from your friend!!!
If you love to take a bath go to the showroom and lay down in the different tubs ....soaking is an art!

A Happy Face And Happy Colors...
Meet Birdie
Someone de-clawed her for some reason. She has ended up homeless and outside with no way to defend herself. I took her to the vet and she won the hearts of the vet and all the employees. She is so glad to be inside again and she is lovin' the bed. My friend is going to foster her for a few days until we find her a good home.
| one comfortable happy kitty |
A quick peek at the wonderful Bohemian Cottage where she will be visiting for a few days.
I am so grateful to Lisa for helping me with Birdie. She fostered another Kitty last year..Simba ....Lisa is a Kitty Angel and beautiful Simba had a wonderful beginning at this cottage.
I blogged about Simba last month when I visited Bohemian for dinner....

One Fish Two Fish....
I have been doing some fishing lately...but not the normal kind with bait and hook.
The words to the Dr.Suess Book ..."One fish.. Two fish... red fish blue fish... always come to mind when ever I see fish.
It has been years since I read it but I remember it word for word.
Remember the last house that got moved on Tybee Island
Well here is a progress report....
I decided it need a bit of personality so a fish picket was the answer. The Catskill Builders are the greatest and were ready willing and able to make my plan come true.
What do you think?
A little shabby fishy bedroom fun...and speaking of fun....We always have fun while we work..

just getting started .. this color is a sherwin williams color SEA NYMPH sw1743
it has a green blue/less blue green...nice color for a house located on an island between a bit of navy to the right and light green to the left.
I cant do the outside without pondering the inside....

Rain ,Wind and Sod
The weather has been so rainy and windy for the past week. I knew all the rain would help some fresh sod so I went to the nursery on my way home from the office and fell in love with this place...I had to share!!!
They had flowers but they also had chickens and fish and herbs and a vintage bathtub shower head fountain...
| how about the rocking chairs on the roof... A nursery with a sense of humor!! |
Everyone was so helpful and pleasant. I love love love flowers and this cheerful place had everything.
( I only wish I could have brought them home with me to help lay the sod....tee hee)
P.S.
Erin at House of Turquoise( My FAVORITE Blog) posted some more photo of the beds from my work . Her wonderful mother in law came to visit and I took her and her sisters on a "ride about" on the island. I shared a few a my projects and the pictures she took are so beautiful.
