Big Tuna Cottage Makes Big Changes...

There once was a house that was going to be torn down....it was recycled into a wonderful cottage with an amazing view. It is now for  sale and if I didn't have 99 steps to the beach cottage, I would buy it right now. It is on a great lot and now has a big walk in closet, a new kitchen, bath, deck and a fresh coat of paint and happiness!!www.solomonproperties.org

Before's and After's in the Cottage World

I ran across this while looking for a before shot of a cottage in my 7,000 photo insanity. This is Fish Camp Cottage and my home for 8 years. It was a disaster but I loved it even in  it's state of disaster. There was serious magic lurking there and I was drawn to it's soul.
the first photo was the cover of Cottage Living magazine ( the greatly missed magazine)
I matched my favorite blouse to pick the color(which is now part of my cottage color collection janecoslickcottagecollection.com

Front AFTER .. the reason for the colors....  the giant bush to the right was a forsythia bush with bright yellow/gold blooms
the cottage was covered with thousands of blue morning glories...It was so beautiful!!!

Let the styling begin.....

Elizabeth Beeler is here and staying at my office. I cant wait to see how she styles The Coral Cottage. It will be featured in an upcoming issue of  HGTV magazine.

the dining room and sun room

the living room
this piece was original to the cottage (we added the color)
what I BELIEVE

Target bed linens in Master Bedroom
twin room (I added the window with the words because it was  an original  window and to balance the wall

a great fun addition to the kitchen

compact and functional kitchen and Laundry and such fun.  Added a retro metal edge to laminate counter top

this is original to the house and it worked but I changed the color

New Beds..New Porch... New Visitors at Cottage On The Green

It felt like Christmas when the new beds arrived at Cottage on the Green...
Land of Nod Beds in Turquoise.........

New black iron beds with foot boards for the  queen beds..
this fabric is so wonderful..I remember when bathing caps were in style..

.
All beds are new but feel old and I love that so much!!!

AND...

The screen porch at unit B came to life..
A good book and one is set  for  a relaxing afternoon.
In the mornings you can sit there drinking coffee and listen to the birds sing to you...

I dropped by to return the curtains  for the doors and met the new visitor having fun on the porch in unit A

Nothing like a porch!!!!

Amazing Elizabeth !!!

August Issue of Better Homes and Gardens

Elizabeth Beeler is smart, thrifty and very creative. We met on a shoot she styled for one of my cottages and we have been fast friends and kindred spirits since that time. This is a great article so check it out.

She stenciled this  herself..she loves projects and especially  the " hands on" kind. Her  house is so wonderful !!!

The best news is she is coming in two weeks to  stay at my office (a home away from home) and we are doing another one.. This time for HGTV Magazine. She can meet my new assistant Amanda and we can get Anna involved and we can have soooooooooooo much fun!!!!
Work is fun..how lucky am I to love what I do. Once we dismantled almost an
entire house to style it and laughed all the time we were working. I think the homeowners wondered if we were crazy...maybe a little.
