A New Color......"Beachy Keen Green"!!!!

My cottage has wonderful yellow and white striped outdoor Sunbrella panels  and a bright blue porch floor.
I don't want to change that element about the cottage even though I am making changes .
My inspiration... for this color... my small antique  dresser, the metal star I had "color matched" and the vintage Collier Campbell fabric on my ottoman.
The original paint color on my vintage chest...............

the stripe in the fabric is this gold/yellow shade

the inspiration fabric has all the colors I   am using
the metal star inspiration
"Beachy Keen  Green" is a green/blue shade....not to  dark...not to light....not to bright.. just beachy keen.!!!
In the 1930's some of the old small cottages were painted  dark green( a deeper shade but still with the hint of blue).

the side door of the cottage with the porch floor color.( I found that door on a trash pile on the side of the road and I love it)
NOTE..White trim is  important to use with these colors. The contrast is fresh and clean.
wanted to be certain it worked with pink..the cottage next door is painted "Luscious Little Cottage Pink"
NOTE: Always consider the house on either side of the house you are painting and how your color will impact and compliment those.
porch elements from the thrift store.(it reminded me of the curtains)

My new fabric...for the living room. Painted the  Jane Coslick Cottage collection shutters on the porch the......

the porch floor color..Spooky loves it!!!
Fluffy is watching the new changes.....
I am not painting the walls on the screen porch "Beachy Keen Green" because I like the white wall  with the blue floor and the bright yellow and white stripes. I may do it later once I am finish with the project.  I have some fun and interesting plans for the cottage, the grounds and the new shed. It is " 99 Steps to the Beach Cottage" and I may change it to "Squeezed In" because ..Remember it is 641 square feet. It is getting a tin roof and fun screen door and a "one of a kind" shed for the lawn mower ,the beach chairs and my favorite pink bike.
Let the designing begin.....

Jane I love all of this. My favorites are the blue color on the porch floor, the magnolia showerhead, and the cats. :)

This makes my head spin, you have to pick exterior colors for my little cottage and there are two mind-blowing purple houses on the street. LOL How shall we compliment all that purple!? :)

You reminded me to get my white lights out again. :D I used to have them in my workroom. Somehow they didn't make it back up when I moved. They are great all year long. Especially inside!

I really like the Beachy Keen Green with the blue porch! Perfect.

Lovely! When I was small, our home was craftsman style and the same color as your beachy keen green! We lived in Vancouver BC Canada and if I am not mistaken, Benjamin Moore now has those original colours though just in Canada! I have the best memories of that house! Cara now in Camarillo, CA

So FUN! I would love to try that color on a front door. How do you think it would look with a grey sided house? The door is now yucky burgandy and it has GOT to go! You have given me inspiration to use color in a fun beachy way,

One thing I always try to do is have a central theme or color scheme when decorating. You did such a great job of using that one color to really tie things together and give your beach house such a unique personality! I really love what you did here. Decorating beach houses is never an easy task, but you definitely pulled it off, as usual!
