The cottage has panoramic ocean views and was featured in Coastal Living in January 2009.
Luscious Little Cottage was built for the Corps of Engineers staff who were building the road to Tybee in the 1920s.
Luscious Little Cottage is a one room cottage, with a vertical half-wall divider for the queen bed. Nine pocket windows throughout for light and breeze. Up front is a day bed with big soft linen shams for reclining and watching the ocean and the ships pass into the Savannah harbor. A restored ticket booth sits in the back yard for added sleeping room. (We call it the "Roost" with twin beds made of old drift wood found on Tybee beaches.) Lots of local art, and the fabric is vintage Carlton Varney on two slip-covered chairs. An old platform rocker with stripe slipcover and fun old stuff like simple white curtains with the ocean breeze blowing through, new funky light from home accent store is the only "new" thing in the cottage. The accents are colors for contrast with the fresh whites.
Owned by the Heriot family until the heirs decided to sell it to me--
Hi Jane,
ReplyDeleteSawyer's mom here...what a CUTE cottage! I just posted a link for you on my Twitter Page. Although I can't move to Tybee Island I hope the perfect buyer shows up for you...someone who will appreciate the place as much as you clearly have. Looks like a little piece of heaven!
