Picking Colors……When your favorite color is White!!!!

It is now time to get serious about the colors of the cottage  called Maddies Beachside Cottage. The owners have left all decisions to me to select the color and fabrics and furniture. There is one large pecan tree on the property and shades and trees are always a consideration when selecting colors.
The ocean is 1/2 block away ( the "information hut" I designed for the city of Tybee) is close by

location! location! location!
I had thought about bright and Happy colors…………………….

                                                      HOWEVER……..

My  personal favorite color is WHITE!!! I love it's simple calm unassuming nature…………...

Thinking Colors,Barstools, Fabrics and Porches…..The Next step...

It is now time to begin the fun part of my job. Give the cottage and new happy personality by selecting the colors  furnishings and fabrics.
The first thing you will see when you open the front door is the back of the barstools….a good place to begin.
Here are a few of my other projects with bar stools front and center. It isn't that I am such a hugh fan of them but in small space it makes for  a good conversation location  and additional seating.

For The Love of Porches

Spring is in the air which means it's almost porch sitting weather. We southerners love  two things...sweet tea and porches. Indeed they are a staple in the south. After a long day, it's so relaxing to sit on the porch and watch the world go by. They're the perfect place for an afternoon nap or to sit with a friend and catch up on life. Big, small, sleeping porches or screened in porches I love them all. Just one look at these photos and you will see why we love love them so much. Here are just a few images I've had the pleasure of designing.

A Tribute to Leonard Miller

My friend Leonard Miller passed away in January. He and I worked together on so many many fun and happy projects. Leonard was one of the bright and shining stars that heaven sent my way to help me create magic and happiness. Here is a photo of him working on the garage doors at the Pink Zebra Cottage on Tybee Island.

The finished project….He painted the outdoor shower, all the shutters, the sign on the front of the cottage.. After the project was completed, He looked at me and said "I do believe we have created another "one of a kind "in the universe"

Sweet and Peaceful Dreams on Tybee. This is another example of the Sandman's amazing talent..Leonard Miller.

The magic of Leonard Miller's art at the Humane Society of greater Savannah. This is the front desk at the adoption center. I think he did an amazing job capturing the spirit of the animals as they find forever homes.

It is a joyous time as we celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony for the low cost spay and neuter clinic which is located next door to the Humane Society on Sallie Mood Dr. I am so very grateful to all the hard working people who helped bring this to a reality ... It is a win-win for all family pets, rescue animals and feral cats and homeless animals. An answer to many prayers and life changing in the best way to all our furry friends.

Leonard we will all miss you.
