Survived the move ......and moving on.......

First......
I want  to thank you for all your kind comments on my last post!! That was such a great help. The new owner loves the cottage..she loves it as much as I do... AND she has made friends with Big Grey. I am so thrilled.

For now, I am renting a beach house  from  one of my great clients. I needed some time "to ponder" before I  begin my new project . I helped them with this project several years ago and it has" evolved" into a fun and funky beach house. A new house that feels like an old beach house. High ceilings big porches open staircase and so many treasures ........................
.. They are the best "treasure hunters" I know. They are always on the hunt for great pieces. I have worked with them for years and we never do "normal".
He always teases me and says, "You are way over-rated".....and yet calls on me when he can't decided what in the world to do with all the treasure that he finds. He is a banker but loves to "junk'. He travels to Cuba and is crazy about the color green.
She is a wonderful  writer and newspaper reporter .She has written 6 books about Savannah and is lover of kitties and old things. I am very lucky to have such and good  and interesting friends.

First shot..
After they collected so many old medicine cabinets that they did not know what to do with them I surprise them by hanging them all together over the soaking tub. They love it. ( Some of them still had the old bottles and boxes in side)

The client loves to paint signs and paints everything green..I mean everything!....He loves Jimmy Buffet and when he isn't painting things green he loves to spend the days on the beach.

He wants to"  be me".......... but as a designer..everything cant be green!!!!!! So for now he will stick to his day job as the banker.........

great details and textures from places thay they visit...........................

Great old pieces for storage............................. closets from old!!!!!!
    I call his style..CUBAN STYLE.....................

Added wood on the walls in the master bath..to cover the sheetrock.....Love the old Mirror.... I can't see my wrinkles in an old mirror  . This beach house is only 9 years old but full of old Tybee Island photos and things .

The old iron bed is original to Tybee Island and belonged to my client's father when he was a young man.

One day I am going to Cuba.......
.( Notice the shutters..... I bought all they had years ago. They are an interesting shade of blue. I used them as  headboards at the" enlisted man mess hall", on the wall at" Mermaid manor" as the cabinet doors and pantry at  A Bohemian cottage".)

The perfect place for pondering! And Jane, don't you think you could fit a few more medicine cabinets on the first wall?

Very happy for Big Grey.

Medicine cabinets over a tub?! Who knew??? I think you could make anything work! I've finally decided on some colors to use in our home after I was inspired by our first visit to Tybee this summer. One of the colors is called Blue Ocean Breeze and it is bea-ut-i-ful! I'm still a little nervous though!

what an inspiring place to stay. Love the old bed and especially the duvet covers! The storage cupbard is marvellous. I found good one years ago at a time when big changes were happening in my life. When i saw the cupboard, it took my breath away and i remember getting excited. So I had to buy it, i've called her Joy. I must feature it on my blog one day. Joy is the keeper of my craft stuff, another thing which brings me joy!
Enjoys your time at the 'stopover' place Jane. Jane x

Jane,
You are a lucky and smart gal to have so many wonderful friends. I think I have read all six of those books by the way. I am pretty sure they are what sucked me into Tybee Island...glad they did! Enjoy your stay and if you ever want to rest in the mountains of Virginia there is a guest room and bath with your name on it at our Mountain Cottage! CottageCrazy.blogspot.com

Hmmm. I've stayed in that cottage too--lovely friends, lovely cottage, lovely soft place to land when you're between cottages.
