Detail over bed

I used a standard towel ring to hang the shell above the bed. I mounted it upside down and also ran the canopy net through it. We hurried to be ready for the Tour of Homes and a photo shoot for the Southern Living Jan. 2009 issue. My assistant, Anna Speir, and I did the " Wild Whirlwind Thing" to pull it all together and when Diane came home she was thrilled to see the magic. . I especially love the bath room upstairs. ( downstairs bath not shown in these photos) Every time I walk upstairs the room makes me smile. We covered an old chaise from Fish Camp Cottage with a vintage Peacock bedspread and Bellamy, the artist, contributed her magic above the chaise and throughout the house to make it a serene and whimsical home. The house is being sold furnished for the most part and it may even become a Mermaid Cottage Vacation Rental.

Another cottage "BEFORE"

Here is Mermaid Manor on the move across the street.!!! ( Regi, my office manager, is leading the way) It was saved from demolition and became a wonderful home on a beautiful lot on Tybee. The house had been re-muddled and the 1x12 beveled exterior wood siding was covered with vinyl. ( I reused the siding boards to build the bar front repeating the original details of the exterior ). Mermaid Manor has 10 foot ceilings on the main floor and a most magical addition in the attic space. It has wooden walls and the feeling of an old house REBORN. It feels like a tree house but most tree houses don't have a beautiful chandelier from ABC Carpet and Home in their stairwell. Now when you walk inside you immediately feel the magic and the happiness of this great place. It is now for sale and once I show you the photos you will definitely fall in love.

Daylight Savings Time

Where did that hour go? It plays havoc with my schedule and I over sleep until fall.
