Before..Old Shutters / After...New Fun Doors
My client found these two old shutters on a shopping trip . They were not a matching pair but were in very good shape and unique. I decided we could paint them a bright color and make them the doors to the storage space under the stairwell. This is the Mudroom....Oops.. I mean Sand Room.... so it worked out as a great detail with the floor and blackboard and the storage bench. .

These are great. You always find the best shutters, Janie J! Maybe some of that good luck will rub off on me this trip. We are packed and ready to go. I can't wait to see you. We should be there around 5ish.
Love ya!
That is so cute! Are those shape cuts originally part of the shutters, or did you have those custom-made to add the designs to them? Regarding the paint, you are right! The color you used for the shutters match the floor tiles. It’s kind of like being in a beach shack because of the color elements. Other details such as the bench, the blackboard, and that metal tub add that feel to it.
