Can you have to much Yellow?

I have been working on the cottage and for some reason Yellow has evolved as a major influence. I had the awing stripe outdoor panels but my new fabric ( by p.kaufman ) for the pillow inside was just calling for yellow "cord less" cord.

I went by World Market and found yellow mugs and bowls also just calling my name. I bought them for a photo shoot but decided to make them my own.

Designing a Space for Healing and Wellness........

I helped my son re-located his  acupuncture practice.
There was painting to be done and new treatment rooms to be created and a waiting room to establish.
I have a secret color that I like to use in work spaces. It does not work everywere but it did work well in this room with the lighting and his furniture.
The color makes work space calm and peaceful yet  interesting and easy on the eye.

My son is  an artist as well as an acupuncturist and he had specific ideas  for how he wanted the office. He was the client......and the client knew what he wanted .

My goal was to help  him tweak his ideas  in order to stay within the budget and incorporate his  furniture and family pieces to create the space.

The practice is Southern Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine in Savannah Georgia.

The waiting area.. he likes to have bookcases with interesting books for the patients.
the fabic pattern on the chair in the waiting room

The sofa fabric which has a purplish tone and a  lumbar pillow from my pillow closet

The color is Sherwin Williams #1192
the aqua/gray green that we used in the waiting  room

both chairs were his grandmother's so we slip covered them to work in the room

While waiting for a nice piece of art above the sofa..............We hung a bit of nature in shades of color that worked well  and added interest to the room

I love the lavender purplish color and the texture of the fan coral

Let the healing begin.............

A antique Chinese gong with stand from his Grandmother

filling the wall behind the sofa with what we had on hand..(hurrah for the storage unit).

I bought this cloisonne vase years and years ago at a thrift store .  I think it has beautiful colors and patterns

the Chinese herbs for healing..( cant read the words but they sure do work!!!!)

My son loves colors so I wrapped the cushion on this chair with a piece of fabric from my closet that he liked for one of the treatment rooms
I shared my favorite orange piece of furniture with him when he opened his practice and I think that means ...Now I get "to visit" it.
the color of the foo dog porcelain is perfect ..bright and interesting

Bellamy found the carved male and female statues with the acupuncture points..I think they were the "perfect" Christmas present for him

"the" favorite piece

nice details

art for the office..(.soon he will be painting and hanging his own work)
comfy place to rest while having a treatment

the area rug under one of the treatment tables (Homegoods to the rescue)

the chair was pink and green ( slipcover are wonderful)
a little 'Bellamy' adds to the beauty............
